The shade of grey has barely touched the silk of your hair,
You bowed down before the void and asked her one question
About how one can tame and calm the unsane march of time
And what then shall become of you just as everything unfolds.
Hear my voice, serf.
Listen to me.
All things that you wanted to gain so fast
Are of no power to my structure.
I’m only able to help find the peace
And veil desire with the primness,
Accept the old and wrinkled flesh of yours
As payment for the ascetism,
And think of your pathetic sorrow as
The principle of melanism.
-Stop! No! I don’t want to…!
“Being old is just as beautiful and holy a task as being young, learning to die and dying are
just as valuable functions as any other –
assuming that they are carried out with reverence toward the meaning and holiness of all life.
A man who hates being very old and gray,
who fears the nearness of death,
is no more worthy a representative
of his stage of life
than a strong young person…”
The worn out hands are shaking
For they have been restricted from freedom.
The worn out hands are shaking
For they feel their own cold struck through them.
The worn out hands are lying,
They will never reach out for the freedom.
The worn out hands are lying
And the void is absorbing their cold.
Jordan Vauvert
The world is a better place for having this album in it. Great guitar and fantastic drums. Fits nicely along side Deafheaven in my collection. Recolour
