Порожденный дух
Ко мне снова стучится,
Жадно дышит, смотря сквозь окно.
"Что вновь хочешь ты мне предложить?" - вопросил я невинно,
"Без чего ты не сможешь прожить!" - он ответил бесчинно.
Погас в доме свет,
Окно отворилось,
И тайный гость завел свою песнь:

"Что дорого тебе - ты все запрятал,
Взвывал на веру, но ни разу на себя.
Корил других, что жизнь в пустую тратят,
Не замечая дел, хвалеблющих тебя.
Невежество свое - ты сеял всюду,
Мой дар сменил на тщетные дела.
И скептицизм довёл тебя до грани,
Ведь только тьма тебе родима и мила".

Воскликнул я:
"Как смеешь ты такое воспевать?
Я прожил жизнь, важнее чем я сам.
Деяния мои - все будут вспоминать.
Наследие мое пройдёт святую мощь,
Паломником приняв любого трескуна".
"Ох, как ты глуп! - взразил мой гость, -
Я удаляюсь. Тебе смысла не познать".

Раздался треск, слетела дверь,
Кидал я вслед посудой,
"Величен я, Презренный дух, изыди прочь отсюда!"

The begotten ghost
Once again knocks at my door,
Drinks the air, looking through the window.
“What do you want to offer this time?” –
I have asked so naively,
“Something that you cannot live without!” –
He has answered obscenely.
The light was put out,
The window went open,
The mystic guest then started to sing:

“What’s dearest to you – you have hidden away,
Appealed to faith, but haven’t done same to yourself.
Blamed many people for wasting their own life
Without noticing the doings praising you.
Your ignorance’s been sown in every corner,
Replaced the talent with the idle deeds.
Your skepticism has brought you to the threshold,
For darkness only is adored and craved by you”

Then I exclaimed:
“How dare you rhapsodizing of such things?
I’ve lived the life much greater than myself.
The deeds of mine will be forever in all minds,
My legacy shall be the holiest power,
And will embrace each careless talker as pilgrim”.
“You are a fool! – demurred my guest, -
I’m off! You cannot grasp the meaning, not a bit”.

I heard a crack, doors went unhinged
As I was throwing dishes.
“ I am the great! You, rotten ghost, be gone away forever!”
